Welcome Letter from the Cub MasterWelcome to Scouting
|
|
My name is Bentley Boyd, and I have been a leader at Pack 103 for eight years - I've seen Scouts pet sharks, run the bases after a Richmond Braves ballgame, play glow-in-the-dark kickball and collect food for the needy. I now serve as Cubmaster - the leader who oversees the Scouts during Pack meetings and leads songs and activities. |
![]() Cubmaster Bentley Boyd has been a leader at Pack 103 since 1999. He earned his Eagle Award in 1985. |
| Erin Gray is our Committee Chairman,
and she manages the parent volunteers who make Pack 103 go. The Pack's
success in moving boys toward their Arrow of Light badge and on to Boy
Scouts is a result of parental involvement. Each parent is asked to
help run one of our major annual events (Pinewood Derby, Blue and Gold
Banquet, camping trip, Christmas party, etc.). You don't have to wear the
tan shirt, but please introduce yourself to Erin at a Pack function and
find a comfortable level of involvement!
Each Pack is also divided into Dens of about 8 to 10 boys all at the same age level. Boys progress from Tiger to Wolf to Bear to Webelo dens. At Den meetings they work on specific achievements, but to complete the Scouting program your Scout will need to work with you on a regular basis at home. Your help during Den meetings and at home will be vital to your son's progress. Please take the time to read your son's Scout manual and to ask your son's Den leader how you can help. We have a unique and exciting calendar of events at Pack 103. We hope you'll join us. If you have any questions about Pack 103 or Scouting in general, please call me or anyone listed on the leadership page.
