Baseballgame BRAVES, Richmond - Jul • ?? •2006

Cubmaster Bentley Boyd and Advancement Chair Bob Winger were two of the many leaders and parents who took 30 Scouts and siblings to a Richmond Braves baseball game.

Pack 103 leaders George Baker at left and Steve Tross in the rear middle lead the boys in "The Wave" at the Richmond Braves baseball game in July of 2006.

That's Bear Scout Brandon making sure the camera gets his good side.

The kids got to march around the infield before the game, see an inside-the-park homerun during the game, and run the basepaths themselves after the Braves victory over the Durham Bulls!

Arrow of Light Ceremony ?? • 2006

This 2006 Arrow of Light ceremony at Pack 103 grants boys the highest honor in Cub Scouting. The Arrow of Light Award is to Cub Scouting what the Eagle badge is to Boy Scouting. The award shows an American Indian sign for the sun above an arrow. The sun has seven rays to represent seven days of the week, reminding boys to do their best every day of the week as they follow the arrow that leads to Boy Scouts. The Arrow of Light Award is the only Cub Scout badge that can be worn on a Boy Scout uniform.

He introduced the boys to "The Unicorn Song," John Denver, and "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown." But in his last song fest he went out singing Johnny Cash!

 Corn Maze Summer 04

!! Remember: Scouts are never "lost."
They're EXPLORING!!

Leader Andrew Oakes and the Scouts get their marching orders from Cubmaster Doug Marty before entering the Renwood Fields Corn Maze

Each year Pack 103 takes Scouts to this fun farm in Charles City County in the late summer to test their pathfinding skills in the high corn. There are also rides on a wagon pulled by a tractor, hay bales to climb on, a moon bounce with giant corn decorations, and a gift shop full of T-shirts with corn puns.

Pack 103 Spring Campout in 2004

The camp was at Camp Brady Saunders just west of Richmond.

The camp had just built a new section designed just for Cub Scouts, with a playground sailing ship at the pond, a castle surrounding the pool, and campsites in the form of a Western fort and an American Indian village of tipis.

Here the Scouts are playing chess as evening falls.
