News Park. The campfire was a gathering place for the Pack Meeting. We had skits and songs, a bear hunt and we introduced the Tigers to the Pack with their orange/black Tiger marks on their cheaks. February 3rd Sunrise Service Yorktown |
Pack 103 participates in two religious ceremonies during the late spring:
Scout Sunday at our sponsoring organization, Williamsburg United Methodist
Church, and a sunrise service conducted by the Boy Scouts of America
council office we belong to.
The sunrise service at the Yorktown Victory Monument begins with the drumbeat just before the sun broaches the horizon. It was cold for the 2008 service! But a 103 scout volunteered to be a part of the service conducted by a chaplain from the nearby Coast Guard station (and feel the weight of "guilt" over doing something wrong, as symbolized by a LOT of textbooks in a backpack). |
After the service the Scouts get to have breakfast at the Coast Guard station, here led by Pack 103 Wolf Den Leader Burlyn Rogers. | |
February 2nd William&Mary Basketball Game |
Pack 103's trip to a William and Mary basketball game was thrilling this
year!
The Tribe had a great team, the arena was full of noisy fans, and the team rallied in the second half and held off some last-second threats to win the game we saw. This is a great wintertime activity for Pack 103. |

THANK YOU to everyone who made the Camp-in at the Richmond Science Museum a success Most especially, Erin Gray! She kept it all moving forward and was there with us in the 103 Sound Chamber Saturday night. I thought we showed how sharp we were, getting 40 kids in, enjoying the activities, and packing out in good order. I was proud to be with you! Cubmaster Bentley Boyd go here and see much more pictures ...

January, 18th Pack Meeting Arrow of Light |
This Arrow of Light ceremony at Pack 103 grants boys the highest honor in Cub Scouting. The Arrow of Light Award is to Cub Scouting what the Eagle badge is to Boy Scouting. The award shows an American Indian sign for the sun above an arrow. The sun has seven rays to represent seven days of the week, reminding boys to do their best every day of the week as they follow the arrow that leads to Boy Scouts. The Arrow of Light Award is the only Cub Scout badge that can be worn on a Boy Scout uniform. |
